ComfortDelGro UK taxi fleets are accelerating their digital transformation following the group’s acquisition of Addison Lee, with several brands now successfully migrated to Sherlock Taxi
The move follows ComfortDelGro’s acquisition of Addison Lee in November 2024 and builds on a technology partnership that helped transform Addison Lee’s booking and dispatch operations through automation in the early 2000s.
Comcab Manchester, Comcab Liverpool, King Kabs Chester and Argyle Satellite have all adopted Sherlock, giving the fleets access to a highly configurable platform designed to streamline operations, improve dispatch efficiency and support new customer and driver services.
Comcab Manchester leads the migration
Comcab Manchester, which operates a fleet of 200 black taxis, was the first ComfortDelGro UK fleet to adopt Sherlock in May 2025.
The business, which primarily supports council and school contracts alongside a growing corporate customer base, required a platform capable of managing recurring school journeys, holiday calendars and last-minute cancellations while maintaining robust safeguarding controls.
Sherlock now supports Comcab Manchester with automated work schedules, school calendar management, parent tracking links and driver restrictions that ensure only approved drivers are assigned to school trips.
The platform has also opened new growth opportunities. Through Sherlock’s Account Management Portal, corporate customers can now self-manage bookings online, giving Comcab Manchester the digital tools needed to expand its corporate client base.
Comcab Liverpool benefits from bespoke local functionality
Comcab Liverpool, with nearly 400 drivers, migrated to Sherlock in August 2025. The transition was more complex because the fleet had previously operated on a shared technology instance with King Kabs and Argyle Satellite, supported by a different dispatch provider.
One of the key operational challenges was rank compliance. Liverpool council rules require the driver first in line to be physically first in the rank queue, rather than simply located nearby. Haulmont’s development team adapted Sherlock’s rank functionality to meet this local requirement.
Haulmont also enhanced meter integration, replacing limited legacy functionality with a more robust configuration that supports operational accuracy and resolves pricing-related issues.
King Kabs and Argyle Satellite complete the rollout
King Kabs in Chester and Argyle Satellite in the Wirral, operating around 500 and 800 drivers respectively, migrated to Sherlock in September and October 2025. The two fleets continue to share bookings due to their proximity, supported by the new shared technology foundation.
A standout feature for these fleets is early prebooking allocation via the driver app. For recurring school trips, drivers can accept bookings in advance, reducing manual administration for operations teams and improving flexibility for parents, passengers and drivers.
Comcab Liverpool, King Kabs and Argyle Satellite are also now using Stripe Connect for driver payouts, enabling drivers to onboard through the driver app and withdraw earnings more efficiently. A driver recruitment portal has also been launched to streamline registration and new driver checks.
By adopting Sherlock, ComfortDelGro’s UK fleets are building on Addison Lee’s proven technology foundation and giving local operators the tools to improve efficiency, enhance customer experience and scale for future growth.
